Five Minute Friday ~ True

Yeah.

So this is what it looks like after nearly 5 weeks straight of camping...

10 in a tent
long days in the van
some truly getting ready to be home
wherever we are going to end up defining it.

not pretty
actually, some were pretty grumpy this morning
because we had to break camp quickly and hit the road because we had
many, many, many miles to cover
and we were already looking forward to a hotel the next night

Jon-man absconded with the camera - and took most of these photos
not sure why on a lot of them,
but these are what I found on the camera

and so there are shoes and flip flops and leaves on the ground and the electric cord
plugging in my struggling to charge computer...

it was also our least favorite campground - the tent was next to the pet run
AND
our site was about the only one the wifi signal didn't reach which made scheduling that
earlier mentioned hotel a bit of a challenge

so there you have it... a pretty true set of photos of our family camping...
good,
bad,
ugly,
and
the really early morning after sleeping on the hard ground in a tent grumpy!

  1. Joining you from FMF tonight! Those are the best pictures I have seen all week! We haven't camped as a family for two years, but the two prior, we did a lot. The crazy, grumpy, happy memories! Thank you so much for writing today.
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
    Blessings

  2. Wow, that is a long time to camp, especially with kids. I felt like a trooper when I went for four days. I bet the hotel was so lovely after all that. I love camping but there's something about a hot shower and fresh linens that makes the world right sometimes.

    1. the hotel was delightful - but the only reason we snagged one for the night was we knew we had many miles and didn't want to think about setting up camp after that. so... didn't have too much time to enjoy our hotel - can't beat the free breakfast buffets.

tried to check out your post this week and all i'm getting are the comments. don't know if the problem is on my side... or yours, but though i'd let you know.

  3. Hi Richelle,

Also visiting from the FMF linkup :) Those are some great photos from your camping adventures. I do hope the hotel booking worked and that you & your family get the chance to lay your heads on pillows and non-lumpy beds tonight. Blessings to you & your family as you minister in Africa.
