Seems a little strange to be finally posting our 4th of July photos... on the kids' first day of school.
6 returning to Calvary Baptist Academy...
1 starting at Calvary for the very first time...
1 at Messiah College, and having already survived his first day of work in the dining commons...
But that is now...
These photos are thinking back to a pretty cool then...
and how we spent the Fourth in Salt Lake City.
First, we checked into a hotel and after several days of camping... it felt like the lap of luxury - not to mention that we had kids in two rooms watching TV. You could pick your poison - Disney Channel or Animal Planet!
Then, we went to a restaurant.
Tim made the decision - insisting we go someplace he could get meat and potatoes... and McDonald's didn't qualify or count.
So we went to this sort of steak, buffet, salad bar resto place.
Large meals and fruity lemonades (and a few Sprites) were ordered by all. Our crew was tickled pink by the free refills and took full advantage of that policy.
We, therefore, insisted that they also take full advantage of the bathrooms prior to hopping in the car to go and find the fireworks.
We were successful in finding them!
We had fun playing with the different settings on the camera... the fireworks setting was one of the favorites!
This was my favorite firework photo of the bunch ~
How about you?
Which one did you like, and if you care to share, why?
Looks like you had a wonderful time! Awesome photos!

Thanks for stopping by my post "Forgotten Arts in a Sweltering Underbelly Week." I remember the years of furloughs. :) May you have great times of connecting and relaxing with friends, families and church families during this time.
How is your son enjoying Messiah? My kids are 18, 14 and 5 yrs old.
I saw your name again on a missions group blog, and I recognized your name. :)
Blesings,

he does seem to be enjoying it. he's just getting into the class routine, though - so a lot remains to be seen. he is certainly enjoying all of the new people he's meeting.
