Okay... so you may not need the sort of oasis that you are thinking of in the midst of the "land of 10,000 lakes..."
But since an oasis can also be (according to the free online dictionary) ~
1. A situation or place preserved from surrounding unpleasantness, a refuge; or
2. a place of peace, safety, or happiness in the midst of trouble or difficulty.
This cabin and it's keepers definitely qualify.
After so many days on the road... so many KOA campgrounds... so many overwhelming and amazing places visited...
our nowhere-near-long-enough-stop to visit Elgin and Sally
or as Elsie Mae likes to say, "Ye Ye and Nai Nai"
was like ice cream on a hot apple pie.
If you like that sort of thing.
I do. Jonathan does not!
The kids got to fish.
Rebekah had been driving us crazy to go fishing for weeks I think!
paddle boat...
play with a puppy...
chatter and yatter...
roast smores...
camp out in this totally awesome little cabin with loft...
play and play and play...
eat amazing grilled and barbecued ribs...
try their hand at kayaking...
enjoy sunset over the lake...
play games in such a warm, cozy environment...
enjoy a yummy breakfast...
say some sad and way-too-soon-early goodbyes...
before we hit the road again.
However... the invitation was offered to come back again... soon.
We may just have to do that!
Thanks, Sally and Elgin! We love y'all,
and are so thankful we get the awesome privilege of calling you friends!
