We went out to the dunes one night last summer.
We didn't stay for long because it was raining -
and there was way too much lightening
to be comfortable hanging out on top of the highest dunes in sight.
But for the little bit of time we were there, we saw something we'd not yet observed while here in Niger:
water coursing rapidly and filling one of the nearby wadis.
It was pretty amazing.
Not too long after that, I heard for the first time ever the Welsh revival hymn,
"Here is Love," performed by Huw Priday...
Now, that song and this memory
(the poorly captured video does not do justice to the speed or power as we watched,
with our eyes, the water race)
will forever entertwine in my mind.

Here is love, vast as the ocean,
Loving kindness as the flood,
When the Prince of Life, our Ransom,
Shed for us His precious blood.
Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He can never be forgotten,
Throughout Heav’n’s eternal days.
On the mount of crucifixion,
Fountains opened deep and wide;
Through the floodgates of God’s mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide.
Grace and love, like mighty rivers,
Poured incessant from above,
And Heav’n’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love.
Grace and love, like mighty rivers,
Poured incessant from above,
And Heav’n’s peace and perfect justice
It's great to see a video all the way from Niger. Pretty amazing. I love the song that goes with it too. blessings. May His love run through you too! :-)
